Sideboard 1790-1795. Mahogany, rosewood, and bird’s eye maple veneers. This piece is a fine example of Federal Period style emphasizing flat surfaces ornamented with contrasting colored veneers. A side board was often used to display fine silver and/or glassware. Typically, flatware and serving dishes were stored in the drawers.

"Since I’ve started volunteering at Gore Place, I’ve become a student again. And I love sharing those insights with others."
