We love our volunteers!

Get a behind-the-scenes look at our museum and farm. Help Gore Place fulfill its nonprofit mission!

Our volunteers help us at many programs and events all year round:

  • Music Programs: Carriage House Concerts
  • Special Programs and Lectures
  • Sheepshearing Festival
  • Holiday Programs: Holiday Teas, Handmade for the Holidays Craft Fair
  • Agricultural/Horticultural Programs:  Plant Sale, Corn Roasts

Benefits of Volunteering:

  • Training on a variety of museum disciplines including interpretation and collections
  • Work alongside a fun team of museum enthusiasts and community members from throughout the region
  • Letters of recommendation or college credit

Want to volunteer for our 39th Annual Sheepshearing Festival?

Witness the behind-the-scenes at this iconic annual event! You will receive free entry to the Festival if you sign up for at least one 3-hour shift. Volunteer positions include ticket sales, membership sales, farm education assistants, children's craft assistants, museum shop attendants, and parking lot attendants. Fill out the form below to set up a brief meeting to learn more about volunteer opportunities at the 2026 Sheepshearing Festival!
