A Winter Regency Ball
Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 7:00-10:00 p.m.
Gore Place is excited to once again be holding a Winter Regency Ball.
Get dressed in your Regency finest and dance the night away in the Great Hall of the Gore Mansion. Live musicians will play English country dances from the Regency Period. Social Dance Historian Ruth Benson Levin will guide you through dances, involving simple, repeated step patterns.
Bring your significant other, a group of friends, or come on your own. All the dances are group dances with gender neutral roles. As you and your partner move down the line, you will find yourselves dancing with nearly everyone else at the Ball.
Regency ballroom attire is not required but will be much admired. We strongly advise, however, that participants wear comfortable, flat shoes and cloth gloves to make hand holding more comfortable.
Dance cards, cotton gloves, and refreshments will be provided.
In case of inclement weather, there is a rain date for the Ball of Sunday, February 8 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Dances to be danced:
Grand March
Haste to the Wedding
Money in Both Pockets
Lord Byron's Maggot
Dover Pier
Well Hall
Turn Your Partner
Newcastle Circle
