Workshop: Embroidery

Saturday, Aug 16, 2025 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT | Speaker Series

Join us for for another installment in our Traditional Skills series for teens and adults! While sitting in the 1806 Mansion, you will learn to embroider, much as Rebecca Gore herself would have done!

Workshop: Embroidery

Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at embroidery? Join us for a Traditional Skills Embroidery workshop* in the Mansion with Meaghan Monroe of Subito Farm Designs.

In this workshop, you will learn 3-4 basic embroidery stitches then put them to work stitching your own 3-inch round embroidery pattern. Each participant will get to choose one of the embroidery kits to make during the class: carrots, onions, radishes, Swiss chard, or peppers. Each kit will include: linen with designs printed on, wool yarn to stitch the design, DMC needle, instructions, and a stitch guide. Students will also be provided with scrap fabric and yarn to practice and a pair of scissors to borrow for the class.

Space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot!

*Traditional Skills workshops are intended for teens and adults only.

Meaghan Monroe has been hand embroidering since 2018. In 2022, she started designing patterns and putting together embroidery kits to sell as part of the family business: Subito Farm Designs. Inspired by her mother’s knitting these kits feature wool yarn and are a great introduction to embroidery. Check out Meaghan’s artwork on Instragram @‌meagahandra.

Cost: General Admission $40, Members $35, Card to Culture $15
