Participants can drop in any time between 9 and 12

The City Nature Challenge is a world-wide event to see how many observations of the natural world we can collectively make over the course of a few days. This year Gore Place is joining as a partner for the first time! Come out to our 50 acres of outdoor space to help contribute to one of the biggest current citizen science projects.

Observations for the City Nature Challenge are recorded on the iNaturalist platform. If you don’t have any experience with iNaturalist, no problem! Come to one of our workshops the week before or find our educator on the day of the event and we will get you started. You can also check out this page to start making observations. Use of the platform and its associated mobile app are completely free to use.

Drop by any time between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and find our educator at the tent near our main parking lot if you have questions or need help using iNaturalist. Then spend the morning making as many observations as you can. If you’d like any help making identifications or more advice on how to best use the iNaturalist mobile app or website, feel free to stop by the tent at any time throughout the morning.

This is a free offering but registration is requested.
