Chamber Music in the Mansion
Evening Performance
Saturday October 4, 2025
Reception at 5:30 p.m., Concert at 6:00 p.m.
Christopher and Rebecca Gore were patrons of culture and the arts. They were early supporters of some of Boston's nascent arts institutions, such as the Handel & Haydn Society. This autumn we are bringing the music of the Gore’s back to their Mansion. A chamber trio will perform the music of the time on violin, cello and our 1821 Broadwood grand piano. In the early 19th century, Broadwood and Sons was the most important piano maker in England. Our Broadwood is very similar to one that was presented to Beethoven in 1818 and remained one of the composer's most cherished possessions for the rest of his life.
Join us for a reception with the musicians in the Great Hall followed by concert of chamber music in Withdrawing Room of the Mansion.
