Join us for a walking tour of our grounds, light refreshments, and a talk led by Christa M. Beranek from the Fiske Center for Archaeological Research at Mass Boston:
Growing Things "Rare, Foreign, and Tender" Archaeological Evidence of Gore's Greenhouse, Fruit Wall, and Garden
Christa M. Beranek will speak about over 10 years of archeological research at Gore Place. She works at the Fiske Center for Archaeological Research at UMass Boston, which works with historic properties and land trusts in the Northeast to discover, interpret, and manage their archaeological resources. Their projects combine geophysical survey, excavation, and environmental sampling to answer questions that are important to community stakeholders. Dr. Beranek's long term research projects include work on the 17th-century Plymouth colony, on urban 18th-century Marblehead, and on the 19th-century landscape around Gore Place.
