32nd Annual Sheepshearing Festival

April 27 at 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

$20

Gore Place’s 32nd Annual Sheepshearing Festival

SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2019 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. RAIN OR SHINE.

Our Sheepshearing Festival is turning 32 this year!

$20 adults, Free for children 12 and under and Gore Place Members. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

No pets allowed.

The festival features traditional manual blade sheep shearing and electric sheep shearing. In addition to shearing, the sheep fleeces are collected and sold. Our Leicester Longwool sheep are sheared the traditional way with other sheep brought in for the electric shearing.

Our fiber tent area offers dozens of fiber artists specializing in wool yarn, roving, knitting kits, and finished wool products. Some even bring animals or special demonstrations.

Don’t miss the popular sheepherding demonstrations with border collies on the South Lawn.

Our crafter area has 75 booths with artisans selling handmade candles, birdhouses, jewelry, metalwork, pottery, and more!

After viewing shearing demonstrations and shopping, join us on a tour of the mansion (additional fee), watch the historic re-enactors, listen to live music, take a wagon ride (additional fee), and more! Members receive free admission to the mansion tours and wagon rides.

Want to follow along on Facebook? We have an event with updates, sneak peeks, and fun.
