March 17, 2020 | Sheepshearing Festival at Gore Place Postponed
Dear members and friends of Gore Place,
Gore Place will postpone the 33rd Annual Sheepshearing Festival (previously scheduled for April 25, 2020) to a later date. We are working to determine the new date, and we will share that information when it becomes available. We have made this decision in response to the community-wide efforts to protect public health amidst the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. The health and well-being of our community is our highest priority.
We will be contacting vendors and participants to discuss our plans and their participation. Concerned vendors may reach out to their Gore Place staff contacts directly.
Every year since 1987, many people have helped us to create our largest event of the year, one that provides critical operating funds for our organization and has become a community tradition. We are thankful for our loyal visitors, friends, members, volunteers, Board of Governors, staff, and the many artisans, historical reenactors, vendors, performers and sponsors who make the Sheepshearing Festival such a success. We stand with our community in this difficult time.
We will post further updates on our website at goreplace.org and social media pages.
Sincerely,
Susan Robertson
Executive Director

March 12, 2020
Dear members and friends of Gore Place,
In light of the recent health crisis associated with the coronavirus, we are monitoring the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control as well as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health on a daily basis to decide what measures Gore Place should take to keep our staff and visitors safe on the estate.
We are currently open for tours and business during our regularly scheduled hours. Should this change, we will update our policy as necessary and list any change on our website at goreplace.org. Cancellations to our events and workshops will also be listed on the website. As of this date, the 33rd annual Sheepshearing Festival is still scheduled to occur.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time. Wishing you all well as we weather this crisis.
Sincerely,
Susan Robertson
Executive Director
