The early 1800s estate of Massachusetts Governor Christopher Gore includes a small farm with sheep, goats and poultry. The elegantly furnished mansion has been called “the Monticello of the North” and architectural historians consider it to be the most significant Federal period mansion in New England.

Please note: Mansion Tours and Take A Walk will not be available Sundays in August.

Currently, there is roadwork being done at the north end of Gore Street preventing access to Gore Place from Main Street (Rte 20). Detour by turning south onto Rangeley Road (one block west of Gore St.) and east (left) onto Colonial Ave. Take a right onto Gore Street and an immediate left into the property.
