Join us in our 1806 mansion designed by Rebecca Gore. We’ll have local makers selling directly, and the Gore Place Boutique will have handmade/designed items as well.
Admission is free. Cash, credit, and check accepted. Free parking in our Carriage House parking lot.
Gore Place members receive 10% off the boutique only, not from vendors selling directly. Find out more about participating makers here.
Can’t make the Shopping Party? The boutique in the mansion will be open for Small Business Saturday 12-3, M-F 10-3, and Saturdays in December (except 12/14) 12-3.
A December Evening Holiday Party

Make your plans now to attend the most beautiful holiday party in Boston! This year’s party, in the elegantly decorated 1806 Gore mansion, features fabulous hors d’oeuvre, music, and a holiday boutique of American made crafts and gifts. Stroll through 21 period furnished rooms with the largest collection of early 19th c. Boston-made furniture in its historic setting and hear the stories of the time. This is truly a memorable experience!

Guests enjoy a 3-tiered tea with scones, sandwiches, and sweets in the beautiful 1793 carriage house, children do a holiday craft activity, families take photos in front of the tree, and everyone joins Santa for songs and stories. Seating is family style at tables up to 8. Tickets must be purchased at least one week prior to tea date.

Step back in time to the era of Jane Austen and experience English high tea service in the 1806 Gore mansion, built in the same style as the country estates featured in her novels. Adults and older children enjoy a 3-tiered tea including sweets, savories, and sandwiches while playing Austen-era games and listening to anecdotes about life during Austen’s time. Costumed guides will take guests on tours of the mansion’s upper floors. The Handmade for the Holidays boutique featuring gifts handmade or designed in the US will be open for holiday shopping. “Music for the Holly Days” Annual Concert (Moody Street String Band)
Tuesday, December 17 at 7:30 pm
$20 general, $18 members, $15 students with I.D.
The seven member Moody Street String Band will offer Irish jigs, Scottish reels, folk-songs and holiday favorites, and they will invite you to sing along.Sign Me Up
Snowshoe rentals (Snow permitting)
January through March, Monday-Friday 10 am-2 pm and Saturdays 12-3 pm (snow permitting)
$12 adults, $5 children, free for members
Bundle up and enjoy the snow this winter! Snowshoes are available for children and adults to rent from the Carriage House when the grounds are snow-covered.
Take-a-Walk backpack rentals
Ongoing Monday-Friday 10 am-3 pm and Saturdays 12-3 pm
$5 per family, free for members
Appropriate for ages 3-7. With a Take a Walk backpack children and their accompanying adults can explore the open spaces and hidden places of the 50 acre estate. Backpacks contain activities, a magnifying glass and binoculars. Come into the Carriage House to get your backpack and begin your adventure!
