Tot Time at the Nature Playscape

Wednesdays, November 14 and December 12 @ 10 am

Tot Time at the Nature Playscape at Gore Place: outdoor fun for kids 1.5-6 years.  Explore nature with rocks, sticks, water, and more. Provocations to explore different elements of nature are open-ended and allow children to do as little or as much of an activity as they like. There will be a different focus each month with new activities. Please dress children in pants and closed-toe shoes.

Children age 1.5 -6 years, with an adult. $10 per child. $5 for Family Level Members. Reservations are required. No older siblings please.

 

Daytime Mansion Tours

Ongoing on the hour, Monday-Friday 10 am-2 pm and Saturdays 12-3 pm  Except 12/15 and 22

$12 adults, $6 children, $3 for EBT card holders (2 adults, 2 kids per group), free for U.S. military veterans, active duty, reservists

 

Snowshoe rentals (Snow permitting)

Ongoing Monday-Friday 10 am-2 pm and Saturdays 12-3 pm snow permitting, except 12/15 and 22

$12 adults, $5 children, free for members

Bundle up and enjoy the snow this winter! Snowshoes are available for children and adults to rent from the Carriage House when the grounds are snow-covered.

Take-a-Walk backpack rentals

Ongoing Monday-Friday 10 am-3 pm and Saturdays 12-3 pm (12/1 start), except 12/15 and 22

$5 per family, free for members

Appropriate for ages 3-7. With a Take a Walk backpack children and their accompanying adults can explore the open spaces and hidden places of the 50 acre estate.  Backpacks contain activities, a magnifying glass and binoculars. Come into the Carriage House to get your backpack and begin your adventure!

Handmade for the Holidays Pop-Up Shop

M-F 10-3, Sat. 12-3 except 12/15, ending 12/22

The curated shop items are handmade/designed by artists from all over the United States. Everything from linens to jams to ceramics. More information here.

A December Evening Holiday Party

Wednesday, December 5, 6pm

$150 members, $175 non-members

Make your plans now to attend the most beautiful holiday party in Boston! This year’s party, in the elegantly decorated 1806 Gore mansion, features fabulous hors d’oeuvre, music, and a holiday boutique of American made crafts and gifts. Stroll through 21 period furnished rooms with the largest collection of early 19th c. Boston-made furniture in its historic setting and hear the stories of the time. This is truly a memorable experience!

$38/pp member rate, $43/pp general admission

Guests enjoy a 3-tiered tea with scones, sandwiches, and sweets in the beautiful 1793 carriage house, children do a holiday craft activity, families take photos in front of the tree, and everyone joins Santa for songs and stories. Seating is family style at tables up to 8. Tickets must be purchased at least one week prior to tea date. 

 

JANE AUSTEN HOLIDAY TEAS

Step back in time to the era of Jane Austen and experience English high tea service in the 1806 Gore mansion, built in the same style as the country estates featured in her novels. Adults and older children enjoy a 3-tiered tea including sweets, savories, and sandwiches while playing Austen-era games and listening to anecdotes about life during Austen’s time. Costumed guides will take guests on tours of the mansion’s upper floors. The Handmade for the Holidays boutique featuring gifts handmade or designed in the US will be open for holiday shopping. Tea seating is family-style at tables up to 8. Regency costumes are encouraged! Tickets must be purchased at least one week prior to tea date. 

 

“Music for the Holly Days” Annual Concert (Moody Street String Band)

Enjoy traditional Celtic and holiday music by The Moody Street String Band in the beautifully restored 1793 Carriage House at Gore Place. Advance tickets suggested.
