Are you a new parent? Looking to get out of the house and be with other adults in a museum? Come to our special babywearing tour led by a veteran babywearer. We’ll see our gorgeous 1806 mansion, and we won’t mind if your baby sleeps – or cries – through our tour! Tour Details: $12 per caregiver. Front carries only to keep the collections safe. Tot Time at the Nature Playscape at Gore Place: outdoor fun for kids 1.5-6 years.  Explore nature with rocks, sticks, water, and more. Moonlight Tours

Evening tours of the mansion. What was life like on a big country estate in the early 1800s? Take a moonlight tour at Gore Place and find out! We’ll see the 1793 carriage house, walk the grounds, and tour the 1806 mansion, one of the few early homes designed by a woman.

 

The mansion at Gore Place is said to be the finest example of Federal period architecture in New England.

 

On this tour you’ll start in the 1793 Carriage House with it’s restored carriages. Then, walk the path to the mansion where you’ll marvel at the  graceful curve of the Great Stairs, the lovely Oval Withdrawing Room, Gore’s Office and Library, the Peacock Parlor and Great Hall.

 

Then, you’ll climb the Servant’s Staircase to visit the Servant’s Quarters and on up the Family Stairs to the beautiful Billiards Room, Gentleman’s Sitting Room, the Guest Bedchamber, the Gore’s Bedchamber, and Mrs. Gore’s Cabinet.

 

All along the way, you’ll marvel at the style and quality of the furnishings, the many Boston-built pieces and the personal touches that make this one of the great house tours. $17, $12 members, $10 students.
