Enjoy a Moonlight tour of the Gore Mansion.
What was life like on a big country estate in the early 1800s? Take a moonlight tour at Gore Place and find out! You will see the 1793 carriage house, walk the grounds and tour the 1806 mansion, one of the few early homes designed by a woman.
Experts call The mansion at Gore Place the finest example of Federal period architecture in New England.
You will start in the 1793 Carriage House with it’s restored carriages. Then, you will walk the path to the mansion and marvel at the graceful curve of the Great Stairs, the lovely Oval Withdrawing Room, Gore’s Office and Library, the Peacock Parlor and the Great Hall.
Next, you will climb the Servant’s Staircase to visit the Servant’s Quarters. Then go up the Family Stairs to the beautiful Billiards Room, Gentleman’s Sitting Room, the Guest Bedchamber, the Gore’s Bedchamber and Mrs. Gore’s Cabinet.
