Parking: Free parking onsite (opens at 9:30am) and free parking at 43 Foundry Ave., Waltham (EDC) and 57 Stanley Ave., Watertown (Jewish Community Day School) with a free shuttle service to the South Gate. The free shuttle is a school bus that starts picking up at satellite parking at 8:45 am for vendors.
The festival features both traditional manual blade sheep shearing in addition to electric sheep shearing. Afterwards, the sheep fleeces are collected and sold. Our merino and Leicester longwool sheep are sheared the traditional way with other sheep brought in for the electric shearing.
Our fiber tent area offers dozens of fiber artists specializing in wool yarn, roving, knitting kits, and finished wool products. Some even bring animals or special demonstrations.
Don’t miss the popular sheepherding demonstrations with border collies on the South Lawn.
Our crafter area has 75 booths with artisans selling handmade candles, birdhouses, jewelry, metalwork, pottery, and more!
After viewing shearing demonstrations and shopping, join us on a tour of the mansion (additional fee), watch the historic re-enactors, listen to live music, take a wagon ride (additional fee), and more!
