Take a Walk
Explore the open spaces and
hidden places on 48 acres of
land. Children and their accompanying
adults can rent activity backpacks
and take a self-guided tour
of the farm and grounds. Each
backpack contains binoculars,
a magnifying glass, and seasonal
activities appropriate for
children ages 3-8. Special
backpack topics, such as Archaeology,
Raised Garden Beds, and Architecture
are also available, seasonally,
for elementary school-aged
children. Call Gore Place to
inquire about availability
of special backpacks. Currently,
the Take A Walk activity is winter related.
Free parking. Just
ring the bell at the Mansion
to get your backpack and begin
your adventure! One-hour backpack rental is $5.

Columbus Day Game; What's Wrong with This Picture?
Does money grow on trees? Do sheep use office chairs? Can lollipops sprout from a garden bed? Take a walk at the Gore Place estate and answer the question, “What’s wrong with this picture?” Unusual objects will be hidden in places they just shouldn’t be. Some objects will be easy to spot, and others will require a closer look. You will earn points for the number of unusual objects you can spy, and will be awarded a prize at the end! Admission is just $5 per group. No reservations necessary.

Take A Walk to Archaeology
Celebrate International Archaeology Day with an instructor-led morning of excavation and digging as part of the Archaeology Take a Walk bags. Appropriate for age 3 to 8. $5 per backpack. Activity lasts approx. one hour.

Preschool Storytime at Gore Place: Halloween
