Take a Walk
Explore the open spaces and
hidden places on 48 acres of
land. Children and their accompanying
adults can rent activity backpacks
and take a self-guided tour
of the farm and grounds. Each
backpack contains binoculars,
a magnifying glass, and seasonal
activities appropriate for
children ages 3-8. Special
backpack topics, such as Archaeology,
Raised Garden Beds, and Architecture
are also available, seasonally,
for elementary school-aged
children. Call Gore Place to
inquire about availability
of special backpacks. Currently,
the Take A Walk activity is winter related.
Free parking. Just
ring the bell at the Mansion
to get your backpack and begin
your adventure! One-hour backpack rental is $5.

Visit the farm at Gore Place and learn all about chickens at the Chicken Eggs-travaganza! Become a chicken researcher for the day, see how long you can sit on a nest, learn the anatomy of a chicken, compare the floor plan of your house to a chicken coop, and hunt for eggs! Activities will be available for all ages and will include games, interactive exhibits, and a Q&A session with the Gore Place farmer. Appropriate for all ages. $5 per person.

Children and adults will enjoy a traditional tea of scones, sandwiches, and sweets, do a crafts activity, and have a visit from Santa with songs and stories. Tickets are $35 per person all ages, $30 members. Tickets must be purchased at least one week prior to your tea. Times and details .

Preschool Story Time: snowflakes and snowmen
It’s cold outside, but in the Gore Place mansion it’s warm and cozy for Preschool Storytime. See the holiday decorations throughout the house, hear stories about snowmen and winter fun, and do a craft activity to take home. Ages 3 and 4 with an adult. $10 per child.
